Doctor Starline is a character created for IDW Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog. He started the series as a flunky who idolized Dr. Eggman, but eventually came into his own as a villain after Eggman cast him out. He's a platypus mobian with white fur and perfectly-coifed grey-streaked hair. His personal style is very dapper and striking --- he cuts a commanding figure in his plum satin suit. He's quite vain and proud of his own appearance. In general he presents himself with a sophisticated and theatrical air. He has no sense of morality and revels in being evil. He's emotionally unstable and prone to mental breakdowns and rants. As well, he is extremely manipulative and controlling, putting on different personas and behaving in a sycophantic manner to get others to bend to his will.
Starline is obsessed with Doctor Eggman and considers him the only person in the world on his intellectual equal. When it comes to a matter of intelligence, he is quite arrogant and looks down upon others he believes to be weaker or less intelligent than him. His desire to conquer the world and instate himself as the ruler of it stems from a belief that society is flawed and that he and Eggman are the only people with the potential to fix it. He loves to hear himself talk, to his own detriment, as his own video logs have been used against him on multiple occassions. The face he puts forward comes across as very calm and collected, but beneath that he has a short temper and can be sensitive to criticism.
Starline's greatest asset is his mind. He posesses an incredible intellect, and has dedicated himself to the pursuit of engineering. Beyond that, he utilzes a tool in the form of a glove that allows him to manipulate arcane stones, as well as utilize a mild form of hypnotherapy. He begins the series in posession of the Warp Topaz --- an orange jewel that allows the wielder to transport themself anywhere --- but loses it in his falling out with Doctor Eggman. He later acquires the Tricore to replace it, which is a mechanized power core based on Eggman technology that allows him to enhance his physical abilities. Worn on his shoes are multi-tool heel spurs, a high tech version of the spurs found on male platypi in reality. Depending on their mode, the heel spurs can be used to either electrocute victims or dose them with a potentially fatal neurotoxin.
